Catholic Foundation Donors Transform Lives with Hope Catholic Foundation donors are transforming the lives of homeless women and children into journeys of hope, stability, employment and self-sufficiency. Donors have given $300,000 to establish Hotel Hope which will make it possible for families with children to thrive and grow to be the best people God has intended. Hotel Hope will stabilize the family and provide hospitality in a Christian environment – a place of love and warmth without judgment. “Our goal is to establish a continuum from homelessness to home ownership,” said Sr. Mary Lou Specha, PBVM, Executive Director. “We will do it with the gospel values of love and hope.” The program will provide links with other programs and services such as education, job training and a network of resources so guests can build their own networks. Through intensive case management, goal-setting and support services, Hotel Hope will move families toward residential stability and economic self-sufficiency – so guests will reach their full potential and become contributing members of society. “We want to create a community of trust among women helping one another so our guests find hope and spirit within themselves and know they are not alone,” said Sr. Mary Lou. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” (Jeremiah 29:11) – guides the mission of Hotel Hope. Hotel Hope will be located in Broadmoor. Support Your Favorite Ministry with an Endowment Endowment gifts are to a parish, school, or ministry what retirement funds are to an individual – they represent set-aside resources for the future. There will always be a need for current gifts to provide for ongoing programs and special needs. An endowment provides for the future of the parish, school, or ministry. An endowment fund is created to meet unforeseen emergencies, to fund innovative programs, and to provide for the challenges of tomorrow. Benefits of Creating an Endowment Fund • Endowment Funds allow you to designate a particular purpose, a specific Catholic organization, or leave unrestricted to serve the greatest need • Establish with cash, marketable securities, or other assets • Ability to fund at death with a gift through a Will • Avoid capital gains taxes on long-term, highly appreciated assets • Reduction in income taxes through the charitable deduction
